Hellooo Richard! (Haseltine)

I been busy with my new products to place on my store, so now I'm going to place a new outfit.

Point is this ... Why anytime I export set of textures from my Substance Painter 2019 textures and I load on DS, happening that?

Pic on the left is the strange artifact of DS, pic in the middle the clean Photoshop, and the right one is the amazing painting in Substance Painter!

I'm using the same technique using Dark Edge Design, and all my textures of my products are perfect!

Thanks my friend! Have a great one!

I need to check out substance painter, but t I am afraid it is expensive.

  • Is that a full render or a preview?

The first pic, that one in DS is a viewport preview, the PS pic is clear, and SP the same. Anyway anything is ok arter SP export. Only when I paint with brush on SP, or I import PNG transparent files to use as decals. Maybe DAZ read something wrong about the png files? Cause the same happens with JPG, Tiff transparent and all about painted! I had a second painted UFO body for my product Elisya Bundle that I have to place but I can't cause the painted colors do the same!

Update : I tried now to make a full render! Same! If you see the pic seems like it's a 26 colors texture, for the patch! It has been made in PS then saved as PNG transparent! But as I told you this happens with any format, from png to tiff!

  • How big is the image you are applying in DS (in pixels)?

For the patch I used 1000x1000px 96dpi. It is made in PS in the size I told you, then exported in PNG format and imported in SP. After that applied on the arm and exported texture complete. It's a procedure I use for any textures. But I don't know why anything painted seems like low quality and few colors. Strange cause in SP I work in 2048 then exported in 4096 and everything works perfect since when I use SP.

  • So the final map is 4,096 pixels square?

  • Texture whole of jacket, not the patch only!

  • Hey Richard! Solved! Bug was the default textures compression in the Advanced Tab of the Render Settings Panel!

SImply had to set the tresholds at 4096 both, so the compression is the same the size if the textures makes in this way a compatibility between size and weight of the file!

    Great! Here the pic!

Thanks Richard to tell me about the size of the textures! Infact you see that texture seems like compressed!

    yes
