I wish I knew! :) I end up doing those from the Actor on the main Paramenters tab because I can scroll through the sliders much more efficiently that way. I've looked for ways to change the shaping tab to do tihs as well and can't find any options.
That's because I don't think there is a way inside DS to change it, at least I never found a way when I converted A3 to Tri-Ax back with DS4.0 and 4.5.
It's tied into the region codes, so the only way I found to change it back when I gave A3 regions was to edit her main DSF asset file.
You will have to do the same for whichever Genesis you are working with.
Open the main asset DSF in a text editor and do a search for cards_on, should only be one in the file, that line should look like "display_hint" : "cards_on", change the cards_on to cards_off, save and close the editor.
I ended up with soo many morphs, that now I use the search and "Currently Used" rather than scrolling a lot of the time, but I'd prefer if it was up to us whether to have the horizontal sliders rather than the icons with vertical ones. In most cases it's far more efficient.
Spent a bit of time digging around in DS, only place you can make regions is the Geometry Editor, so after a bit of digging in it's options I found one for "Region Editor", don't remember seeing that in 4.5 but then I haven't made any regions since then either.
Geometry Editor options menu > Geometry Assignment > Region Editor
This option opens a window that lets you select which regions use the cards and which don't, be careful though as it also lets you change the region order and parent child. So if you mess up in there and save it to the DSF, then you will probably be quicker just re-installing the figure than trying to undo any mess you made.
I find on some thingsif I click currently used or I click the main item and not a sub surface or sub section it changes to the lines instead of the cards/boxes.
