Torprin Tower, flat aspect

Dear,

I recently purchase this reference:

https://www.daz3d.com/torprin-tower

The aspect of all renders are flat, the stones don't have relief as in the promo images.

Maybe the problem is the light ?

Thanks, Xavi

I don't have that set, but looks like 3DL materials. Are you rendering in IRay? These materials use bump and displacement to create depth. IRay can't handle microdisplacement very well, you probably need to convert to SubD and possibly up the SubD level to 2 or 3. Or more? Try increasing both bump- and displacement strength.

Check the limits for bump and displacement, too. Often I see them at +/-0.1 or +/-0.01, which wouldn't even show on something that large. Make them something more like +/-5.0 and adjust the strength.

Yes, sorry, I’m using iray, I will try to render with 3Delight.

    Thanks, Xavi

Can I change this limits with iray or better use 3Delight and no change settings ?

Try it and see. Those adjustments can be made in both shaders, so, whichever you like better...

You can save a scene for each (3DL and Iray) and play with the individual surface parameters to compare the results without having to constantly change the shaders and render settings.
