How to change a parameter to a shape morph?

I have some morphs that show up in the Parameters tab, how do I change those to show up in the Shaping tab instead?  Thanks in advance for any help!

There are a few ways, but some of them can bugger things up if you don't get it right.

Easiest and safest way is to find the dial in the Parameters tab, top right of the dial you will find a cog shaped icon, left click it and choose Parameter Settings.

In this new window the one you want is third down "Path", there is a drop down menu with a list of available paths, or you can write your own in the path window, has to start Actor if you want it to show up in the Shaping tab with a Genesis series figure.

Once you have the Path set up click Accept, check in the Shaping tab to make sure it's where you want it to be, then go File > Save As > Support Assets > Save Modified Asset.

A window will appear with a list of DSF files to be altered, click Accept and DS will save the changes.

Path determines where the property shows in the list, it's Type that chnages it from Shape to Pose or vice versa.

  • I can't help but wonder.

If I open Dog 8, go to the viseme parameters, change their paths to match the MilDog paths, then save to the DSF file... would the Dog 8 then play well with the MilDog DMC file? Just curious.

As far as I know it's ther name (or label) that matters, not the path.

Thank you Richard. Here's why I asked.

I tried to animate Dog 8 in Mimic using the MilDog DMC file. It gave me an error, unsurprisingly. The log file said Mimic couldn't find the visemes in the given path. Only the path is wrong. All the needed visemes are there.

I'd like to edit the DMC file to path correctly to the Dog 8 visemes, but I don't know the syntax.

    EDIT

Well, I tried the mod mentioned above, but evidently it only affects the UI.

then how about morphs that are in the parameters or shaping tab but not visible in the FBX eport settings
