created model clothing distortion after using transfer utility.

hello, I hope someone can point me in the direction of a video or information on how to fix the tearing and stretching affect on newly created model clothing  after using the transfer utility like under the arms and around the leg creases. thanks you.

  • An image showing the edgs might ehlp - I suspect you may have too little resolution, though adjusting the weight maps may help.

Have you tried applying a smoothing modifier?

Select the item then go to Edit -> Figure -> Geometry -> Add Smoothing Modifier. Then go to the Parameters tab and look under ItemName -> General -> Mesh Smoothing to adjust Smoothing Iterations as needed.

  • Hi Aquatic,

You seeing there is really part of the whole content creation process. After creating the and importing it as a comforming item to a figure. There are a few things that will usually be causing that distortion. You vertices are anchored to the figures vertices, the weight of the clothing needs to be adjusted to tell it how to re-act to different bones movements as well morphs that are generated by DAZ Studio for limb movements. Here is a video of Sixius1 on CGBytes dealing with this exact step.

Most of that video was all greek to me when I first watched it, but i have ran into the exact issue creating conforming clothing. While dealing with the issue I played that video and followed his steps in dealing with disotred limb movement morphs. Slowly started understanding what the different things were as Sixius1 did a damn good job explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. Eventually I got my suit for G3F working perfectly thanks to all of his different steps. But to summerize, there can be a lot of different things causing the distortion or can be multiple as I found with some clothing items i made. Thing is to work through each and pin point the exact problem and fix it :)
