Question about Shaders?

How are they used? I purchased "Creative Metal Iray Shaders". How do I apply it tp a surface? Thanks in advance.

Select the object, open the surfaces tab and select the surface you want, make sure the base object is still selected, find the shader you want to apply to the surface and click it.

If you use the surface selection tool, you can select the surface and the object at the same time.

Like Kenshaw and Matty have already said, a Shader Preset needs to be told which surface of the selected object you want it to be applied to.

This is different from a Material Preset for clothing, hair, etc. which knows the surface names for the object and so knows what settings to apply to each surface by name.

The texture is not evenly spread (image 3).

You did not follow the directions and seem to have changed just the Diffuse Color and not the entire shader.

You will also need to run the Iray Uber shader on those trousers as that is a 3Delight shader that is set for them. The shaders you are using will also only work right in Iray and wont show correctly in any other Draw Mode.

Thank you for explaining all of this. I finally understand it.
