cannot see the new scene

Some of the scenes come with a set that is ready to render. When I load them, I cannot see what is in the scene.

How do I make it where I can see the content before I render the scene?

Is it all black? - Go to menu Window and Preview Lights...

If there is a Skydome loaded in the scene tab then delete or hide it as it is for 3Delight. In Iray the Skydome hides the light from the Iray Dome

I have to same problem.  The lights that come with the scenes often don't do a thing.  Gonna have to try the skydome trick.

In the past I had to add my own lights.  There is also another trick I've been told before.  Let me see if I can find it.
