Turning Studio animations into gifs.

I've been trying for a while to animate a little sequence and turn it into a gif (using online gif converters like EZgif and stuff) but I've noticed a very annoying lag at the point where the gif starts over again. It's almost like there's a spare frame between the end frame and the start of the next.
What I've tried so far is editing the clip post-render, changing my render so that the final frame is almost at the starting position, or stopping the render a frame in from the end. So far, no go. Swatting Studio with a rolled-up newspaper doesn't seem to work, either.
Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong or overlooking?

I use Gimp and import the images as layers, I can also reverse the layers and import them again as additional layers, then export as gif animated, you can choose the options you wish for speed and cumulative layers, if they have alpha those layers look quirky sometimes on top of each other for a cool effect.
The only problem I can see with that is that you know what you're doing and I have no clue. However, I do have GIMP and a three-day weekend, so maybe I can work something out. Thanks for the hint.
