Hello World!

I should start by saying I am NOT interested in becoming a CGI artist. I am an aspiring film actor/director/media producer (music, photos, film, etc) and am looking for direction on where to go.

I love green screen style movies, and am interested in getting environments that I can render as backgrounds that will be used as green screen backdrops to filmed subjects.

That said, I have bounced over to daz3d.com and saw the market place. I saw tons of environment stuff. Looks promising.

However, I saw a film on Vimeo where some guy used Carrara to do the CGI rendering. See below:

http://vimeo.com/17631561

So my question is this. Are CGI renders such as the one in the link above available from daz3d.com? I'm really only looking for environment stuff, not the sci-fi glossy stuff, but something that is fairly "believable" for film. I noticed many of the environments in daz3d.com available for purchase while looking "nice" didn't exactly scream "film quality"?

Ideally, would like to be able to get an environment, where multiple camera angles are available, having night time lighting would be a bonus, and having the ability to render a sequence such as a wide shot zooming in to a particular place on an environment that can serve as a backdrop for subjects. (E.g. Asian Cities for Kung Fu scenes, future cities for dialogue backdrop)

I recognize quality isn't free, so paying for it is quite fine by me. Once I'm able to get the CGI renders on video, the rest is easy.

Running FCPX, Logic Pro Studio, Photoshop/Lightroom CC, and have a 5D Mk iii, OS X Mavericks, and Daz Studio 4.6

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Chris

I can only suggest you purchase a larger set you think might serve for one of your needs and test it. DAZ3D has a 30 day money back policy so if the item is not up to your standards your not really out anything.
