Thank you, @L'Adair @Mattymanx! Made my day.

In this example I did not choose extreme color combinations so the effect is very subtle. I plan to post some pictures where the color blending is more visible but spent the weekend learning thin walled in shaders ... but I will play with the options. Although I don't use many of the colors I also appreciate it immensely that this product also teaches you what some of the features of the dual lobe shader does.

    You're welcome. smiley

Improved my hair model and tried out one of MMX color maps. Very cool effects if you have different hair pieces.

This looks so good… makes me want to spend some time in the SBH Editor! (the color map looks pretty cool, too.)

Hey, just found this thread/Product, can I use that to color any hair how I want?

Or does it not work on all G8 - Iray hairs? (I only use G8+ Iray)

    --

I found this in my Lib:

but I have no idea what that is, how it works xD SBH does mean Strand based hair, if I am not wrong? :)

I could not find the product by google :(

Google did bring me to THIS thread^^...

    But, if I use it:

    IRAY:

    its just black :(

So... is it not for every product and is this MMX Product better?

The product, which I have, seems to not have Iray things on it (that PBR panel is missing at the top).

Edit: found the product now by google "chevybabe25" would say its this:

@Loony You have to render it :) What you are seeing in the viewport is the line preview color.

Oh.... the thing with "real render" and preview render <_<

I dont understand why the iray Preview render is different to the final render :/

In preview I had no pokethroughs, so I was not able to fix it, and in final render I had a black circle on the forehead with one boy in a scene :(

I hate that it needs the full render to show all :/

There are settings for the hair in the Parameters that will allow it render in the viewport, but it can slow things down when you don't need to see it. I like to use the Spot Render tool, with the New Window option enabled. And if I need to see it close up, I can temporarily set the Dimension to something really large in the Render Settings, then Spot Render just the hair and see more detail.

Hmm yeah, I saw that in some other hairs, Line tessellation or something and yeah I had that with some wet curly hair, everytime when the hair was visible, I moved with my camera around very very slow, when the hair was in the camera vision range, so i id try to fly around without looking on the hair xD.... or I did hide the hairs :)
