how to get rid of the background when working with hdr

hello.... i know: this is beginner question (sorry playing with bryce only one week)

i try to figure out how hdr works... in the image attached i like the reflexions in the glas.. but i don´t want to see anything in the background
this i like to be just black... how can i get rid of it?

    Move the camera to get the background out of the way. You can also disable HDRI as backdrop in the IBL tab but then you lose the reflections.

    thanks horo.... i was hoping for something similar to the fantom funktion is daz studio where you can switch on reflexions in
    the object but get rid of the sphere in the background... than it looks that for this purpose daz will work more for my advantage

    @mail-039 - We can do that in Bryce with Obscure Light, which is a TA variant. It uses another render engine, gives nice results but take a bit longer to render. See the Memo on my website, which features also a link to a video by David Brinnen that explains it. The memo is only for quick reference. On my website, go to Bryce Documents > Memos > Lighting > Obscure Light.
