I reinstalled M4 and then ran the updater, and now it appears to be working

You didn't accidentally paste the Creature Creator runtime inside the M4 runtime, did you? In other words, if you open the runtime with M4, you don't see another runtime inside of that runtime, do you?

I pasted the runtime into Poser pro 2012 content
i know how to post runtimes
so this doesn't make any sense why it is not working
is it because it is not 'initializing'?
how would you even initialize with no exe? this makes no sense.

Did you initialize the morphs after you installed them?

Every time you install a set of ExP morphs, you need to go into the !DAZ folder in the library and find the dos.bat file for M4 Create ExP files and run it by double clicking on it. This will initialize the morphs.

Make sure Poser is closed. When you reopen it, load the M4 base and Creature Creator morphs. They should work after initialization.

Initialization isn't done with an exe file, it's done with a .bat file. But I just looked it up, and Creature Creator doesn't need initialization. Is your Poser Pro folder inside the Programs folder?

Edit to add: I guess M4 has to be reinitialized, however.

If you install morphs and they aren't showing up, it is often a good idea to re-run the .bat file. It won't hurt anything and can only help. Not to mention the M4 Creature Creator morphs page gives the link to how to install the morphs and it does tell you to do it.

To initialize, go to "Runtime:Libraries:!DAZ" and run DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat (.command on MAC). DIM will do that automatically, but if you extract the files from the zip manually you need to initialize manually as well.

Just a quick Plea. Once you have the answer to your problem, if you leave the first post as it was originally, and just add ''solved'' to the thread title, it leaves the thread intact for any one else to see, if they also have the same problem.

Now we have a thread where people have pulled in to help you, and as you have edited the thread title and the original post there is no point to the thread any more.

Please leave your threads intact, so they can help other people, as others have tried to help you. Thankyou.
