Help, I need a face from one m4 to another m4, how do?

Okay, so... now that I have new morphs, I had to reload a fresh M4.
I have several characters though that are custom made.
So my question is how do I save their face morphs so I can apply them to another character?

I don't know specifics of your morph but usually the easiest way is to:
    1. Make sure that you Michael 4 on lowest resolution. Zero it.
    2. Dial your morphs to get that custom face you want.
    3. Export as Wavefront obj. The scale for export and import should be consistent (I usually use Hexagon 1 unit = 1 cm, 100%), Ignore invisible nodes checked, Export with Existing groups checked, everything else can be unchecked.
    4. After that load your fresh M4, zero it and use Morph Loader Pro or Morph Loader Advanced to import that obj to make a morph.

Saving that kind of morph might be tricky: it supposed to save it with a scene but you might end up loading the obj-as-morph every time you need that custom morph.

There is a way to make morph injectable so you'd be able to inject it into any kind of M4 without going through export/import but I only know DS route and I'm not sure that scripts that worked for this purpose in DS 3 are still working or available for DS 4.6.

Pretty much the same for poser. Select the head once the morph is active, then go to File - export - wavefront obj and then just select the face to export. Now load up your new M4 and then when selecting the face, go to the Properties tab and load morph target and load the obj you exported earlier.

Is it going to be like static though? The thing is I create characters and give them expressions and shit

No, it is just like any other custom morph and you can always delete if if you want, just give it a try. That is basically how custom character faces are done.

A couple of things to be aware about custom characters: 1) you can't redistribute that obj and 2) you can't redistribute the resulting morph, even in inj/rem, ExP or delta variations if parts of this morph were made by other people (excluding products specifically set as merchant resources).

Make a folder in your M4 runtime/libraries/pose , give it your name or something, so like ''My Characters'' and save your M4 there

So go to the Pose library, click on the folder you have created. Click on the big + button which says ''Add to library''. You now get a screen which gives you the option to give it a set name, so then you add whatever you call your character.

Now if you just want to save the face, next click on select subset. that brings up a screen which gives you the hierarchy, there you need to click on head.

Also you could do similar but save it in the expressions in the library if you just want the face.

You can make an obj morph in Poser by selecting the head and then clicking on "object'' on the top line of the poser screen, and then spwan Morph target in the drop down box. You will need to save this morph target into a folder on your PC.. When you want to load it to a new figure, you use ""object'' and then ''load morph target''. However do note that this way of saving a morph target is for your own use only. It is not legal to distribute this sort of morph for others to use.

Edited to add that it would make it easier for people to help you if you did let them know which program you are using in your original post. Akso this sort of question would probably get a more informed answer if it was posted into the Poser Forum, which is here.
