Is there something like instantiation for Daz scene objects?

For example, suppose you have a bunch of chairs you want to put out in a scene, but haven't decided what to use for the textures or other design elements yet and may want to change all of them later, by editing just one. Is there a way to modify each object without having to manually re-place all of these?

Create>New Node Instances will create a sereis of live copies of the primary selection, where chnaging the original changes all the others too (it is also less demanding on the renderer).
Okay, now I am a little confused - is there a way to "break instantiation" then? Or is the new node a "permanent instantiation"? (How do you tell the original from the instantiated or can you not?)
The icons in the Scene pane are different for the instances.
There isn't a way in the UI to turn an instance into an independent prop, but it can be done via scripting - and has been https://www.daz3d.com/instances-to-objects
