Crystal Ball? Help

I purchased this product because I wanted to create a crystal ball (as shown on the product image page, bottom left). However, there is no smooth sphere in the shapes provided with the product, just a variety of faceted gemstones and a glass goblet.

Is there a simple way to create a completely smooth round sphere in DAZ that I can apply these shaders too, or do I need to find another product that has a crystal ball prop?

The gemstones are really beautiful, so I will keep this product, but I need a crystal ball. sad

Any sphere will do. And yes, Studio can provide one.

'Create A New Primitive' in one of a couple of ways: From the drop down menues or from the icons. Then select 'Sphere' and play with the options, like diameter, etc.

  • Try using a sphere primitive and apply the shader. You might have to go into your product library and select the shader from there in order to apply it to the primitive. I haven't been able to figure out how to apply shaders to primitives from smart content and always have to locate them in My Library, My Daz3d Library, or Products A-Z and apply them from there after selecting the surface.

Thank you Dragonfly. It worked. Not quite perfectly round but close enough. I just use this as reference for my paintings, so it doesn't have to be perfect. smiley

Magog: Make sure you have the prop selected in the Surfaces Pane before you apply the shader, otherwise nothing happens. (see my screenshot)

You are welcome, Von Hobo. And you can always create a sphere with more sides/segments, if you want it less angular - or just find a ready made sphere/ball that suits you.
