Help with dforce! My cloths keep falling off!

So I'm rather new to Daz, but have been doing little else for the past... or week. I think I'm getting a handle on most things, just effing around, making renders of my dnd characters, stuff like that.

So, I bought the Dforec princess maiden outfit (https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-maiden-princess-outfit-for-genesis-8-females)... put it on one of my characters... simulate.... and the BodiceMid component just slips right down her chest, exposing her breasts to the world. NOT what I intended definitely, surely not what the creators intended either... I've been trying to mess around with the surface->simulation settings for that component, but the only thing that helps is turning "visible in simulation" off entirely. Which is probably less then ideal? There's got to be a setting or config I'm missing that will make it stiff enough to stay up, but still simulate?

  • Can you show your settings please? What figure are you using?

The dress was created for the Genesis 8 Female. This matters with dForce clothing sold at Daz because the clothing is also conforming to the same extent a similar item without dForce would be conforming. If you select your character and double-click on any preset for the outfit or it's parts, the clothing will be fit to the figure. If the figure isn't a G8F, the Auto-Fit dialog will automatically pop up.

The results you're seeing with dForce "sounds like" the dress isn't actually fit to the character. If you've only placed the dress in the scene so it appears to be on the a figure, the bodice won't have "conformed" to the shape of that figure.

Unfortunately, I don't have this outfit to test for you.

It would really help us help you, as well, once we know the answers to Cris' question, above.

I started with a G8F base, modified with Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs (https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-female-body-morphs/). She's ended up about a head shorter, a bit slimmer, and with smaller breasts then the default. No auto-fit Dialog... Ima going to quickly try a base g8f and...Yeah, unomidifed g8f works fine... guess the dress is kinda counting on the breasts to keep it up? I hope there's an easy fix for that...

Not sure what settings would help, I'm just starting, so for now I'm running with simulation settings left at default.

If the dress has a separate material zone for the corset/top than the skirt, it may be possible to shrink the bodice by setting Contraction-Expansion Ratio to less than 100%. I'd start with 98%. You'll find all the dForce parameters for the dress in the material zones from the Surfaces > Editor. In the left column, double-click on the dress and the various material zones will be displayed under the dress name. Select the top, (corset, whatever it's called,) in the left column and then scroll down the parameters in the right column, until you find the numerous dForce Cloth settings.

  • Whoops. Fixed now./

In case anyone else finds themseleves with this problem. With the Dforce Princess Maiden Outfit, you have to run the simulation before changing the textures on the clothes. Every time I run the simulation with the standard material texter it works fine but if you change the material texter than do it, it sags arounds the breasts.
