Apply Pose to Upper Body Only?

So I'm familiar with applying poses via CTRL -> Selective / Recursive, however, that seems to always apply the pose from the selected joint down to the lower nodes. 

Is there a way to apply a pose selectively moving upwards, instead? IE, from the Pelvis to the Head, instead of Pelvis to the Feet?

No, because that means goin back to the hip and then through the Abdomen. If you want pelvis and upper body you'd have to do it in two steps - abdomen recursively, then hip and pelvis selected only.

Sorry, sounds like my question was unclear, but you pointed me in the right direction, regardless. You're saying the Abdomen is the pivot point from the lower to the upper body. Thus, selecting the Abdomen and applying a selective recursive will apply to the upper body, only... Perfect! Thanks!
