How does IM notice updates of products?

I ask because I use one computer for inet access and IM downloading an another for DAZ. And I clean the IM download directory after downloading.

Does IM notice updates of products because of

  1. installed products or corresponding DB (that would be DAZ PC)
  2. downloaded products by corresponding  DB / history in IM environment
  3. downloaded products by access to all product  or .dsx files

    3. Leaving the zips, or even just the .dsx files that are in the Downloads folder, should be enough to trigger an update notification.

    Ah ok, then I will move back the .dsx to the download folder
