Is it possible to do that [Locking bones tranform during animation]?
Basically I have an animation that is moving, not inplace, and I want it to be inplace, so I am trying to lock the root bone.

Make sure that both the hip and root nodes are zeroed, beyonf any translations needed for vertical placement.

I needed to check UseLimits in the transform setting of the mesh
