Daz does not export animation

I can export animation with skin, but without skin, I cannot :/

Unreal Engine do not detect any animation track.

  • Export as what? What do you mean by with and without skin, and what are you wanting to achieve?

  • Mixamo website offer to download animation without skin.

And I talk about the FBX format.

Else I tried to verify something.

I downloaded an animation with a mesh from Mixamo, imported to UE4, it's worked.

Then I imported the mixamo mesh to Daz Studio, export it in FBX format, imported it to UE4.

    And it's not worked.

    Very strange

  • If by "without skin" you mean the bone animations but with no model, have you tried BVH?

  • I cannot export to BVH because the skeleton node isn't inside the mesh in DAZ.

  • Ok I finally found a solution that do not use Daz studio, mixamo FBX exported from blender works with Unreal Engine

well I use Mixamo animation exported from Mixamo with UE4 for what it's worth

on Fuse figures and stuff I modelled mostly but you can retarget any skeleton to humanoid and swap out animations

    not exporting from DAZ

downloading from the Mixamo site, any figure and motions their own and autorigged

    you retarget in UE4

    watch video

I am forgetting I use Carrara which adds a root bone to FBX exports

  • But I need to modify the animation with Daz or Blender.

  • DAZ studio has a pretty useless FBX importer so honestly I would leave that out of your workflow altogether.

Export the DAZ figures to UE4, and do any retargetting and rendering there.

If making a game to redistribute make sure you buy the licenses for the used DAZ assets.

    Hmm,

Ok so, do you know a sliding animation (like in Call of Duty) in Daz studio ?

I didn't find it in the store.
