Geometry on a cylinder

How do you create anular rings on the face of a cylinder? See attachment.

OR

Is it possible to create anualer rings in Daz Studio?

    That's probably a task for a full modeller, like Hexagon.

    Yeah, it would be simple in Hexagon. I do that all the time. But Studio isn't really a modeling product (despite the Geometry Editor tool, which is really intended for relatively simple changes to existing models).
