    Hello,

I am using DAZ3D a couple of years now, but this has never happened to me before, and I am not able to find the source of the problem.

I use a lot of emissive planes and spheres and etc to light my scenes, and now it looks like the objects just ... kind of absorbing the lights of emissive lights. I have opened my old works and they show wrong too, however nothing has changed in the saved file. Let me show it through a very simple scene:

On the sphere, I have used the Bulb 100 Watt shader, the cube is just untouched.

Dome and Sun-Sky just works fine, however sphere still not emitting light

Neon Green is clearly visible on the cube, but not lights the space.

I have already reseted render settings to default, tried out other render presets, reinstalled DAZ3D, updated NVidia driver, still not working...

    Thank you in advance!

  • What are you expecting? If it's an empty scene, aside from sphere and cube, then there's nothing to illuminate and nothing for the quite shiny cube to reflect. Try reducing the gloss on the cube, or put a big sphere around the scene.

  • This is what I'm expecting:

I did the same on my laptop, and it worked like this before.

  • Do the cubes have the same shader in both?

  • The cubes newly created primitives, but every other props, characters, etc seems black, even my old scenes using Scene Only lighting.

  • I have found the solution.

To others with the same problem: It seems, that Draw Mode is not the same as Render Mode. During creation I use Render Mode in Interactive, so I missed Draw Mode - it was set to Interactive too, but

IT HAS TO BE SET TO PHOTOREAL!

Draw Settings can be found under Window \ Panes \ Draw Settings

    See attachment.
