Issue with GPU rendering after upgrading to Daz Studio 4.12

After upgrading to Daz Studio 4.12 it seems that iray won't render with GPU only, but works fine with CPU rendering.
I have a GeForce GTX 1080 and my drivers are up to date and it worked fine with the previous version. Any ideas of what could causing this issue?

By previous version you mean 4.11? What is the exact driver you have - right-click on the desktop>nVidia Control Panel. I believe this requires 430.x or higher, but the thread with nVidia updates is not using the format I'm used to for the numbering (R430 GA3)
Ok thanks! Problem solved! My drivers wasn't so much up to date after all, I used the NVIDIA GeForce Experience to update and it works fine now.
Windows update always installs very old Nvidia drivers. You should disable it installing drivers and always get your Nvidia drivers straight for Nvidia. If you don't mind the bloat ware GeForce Experience will notify you when a new driver is available and do the download for you.
I just updated to 4.12 and it is terrible! I have an RTX 2080ti running on an Intel i9-9900K. With 4.11 I was getting render times of about 30 minutes and my CPU temp was staying below 50 C. After upgrading to 4.12 I tried rendering the same scene because 4.12 was supposed to be faster. It was not faster, in fact it was a lot slower. The main reason seems to be that it is flogging my CPU to death. My i9 has 8 cores and all of them were running at 70C or more. This of course makes the CPU run slower. I didn't even have the CPU checked in the advanced settings. I also tried it with the CPU checked in advanced settings and it didn't make any difference. The point is 4.12 has some serious problems. I need a solution or a way to get back to DazStudio 4.11.

I bet that you don't have the required minimum driver for 4.12. If you load the correct driver, Iray will be able to use your RTX "cores".
I found 4.12 to be about 20% faster even for my 980TI. If your scene foits on the 2080TI you h=shold have minimal cpu activity.
Actually, I did. I had the 430.15. I went back and checked for a newer driver and downloaded the 436.30 driver. In the process I discovered that the nVidia driver section defaults to notebook for drivers and that is what I had with the 430. I installed the 436.30 DESKTOP driver and turned off CPU in advanced .. and now everything seems to be working normally.
It sounds like the render is ruuning on the CPU not the GPU. If you have the latest Nvidia driver and know to check the advanced render settings the other thing to check is the Nvidia control panel. Under Manage 3D Settings check that Daz is allowed to use your card for CUDA under the program settings tab.
Sorry for digging up an old thread -
I am having trouble getting my GPU to initialize at all with DAZ.
It is showing 0 CUDA cores - but I know the RTX 2060 Super has over 2000? What am I doing wrong? My drivers (both studio and gaming ready) are perfect. I used the nvidia experience to download them).
I have been into the nvidia settings, added DAZ to my programs and enabled CUDA.
Tearing my hair out over this :(
I believe that is not the number of CUDA cores found, but rather the number of the card. If you have 1 card the number should be 0 for Card 0. If you have 2 cards you would have 2 lines: one would be CUDA 0 and one would be CUDA 1. It is seeing your card though. I hope this helps.
