I know! Same here...snowing for hours and no end in sight! And I still shouldn't go outside, this congestion just won't go away.

Oscar Mike Golf that's what I've been doing wrong, I should be up our Pear tree plundering fruit and the parrots should be in our kitchen cooking dinner and squawking at me to clear off

My disk defragmentation program is still running. I think the runtime folder for Daz Studio and Poser 9 has 100,000 files. Maybe I should move the runtime library to a faster drive and change the drive letters. Afterwards, I can open my existing Studio 3 files without errors. Or maybe the defrag program is trying to move 350 GB worth of games, music and home movies around.

...not sure if moving your libraries/runtime to another drive will break paths to content used scenes you've already done or are still working on.

When I was having pathname issues while loading V4, I made a slight change to mapping the directories in my Daz Libraries to fix it,. Unfortunately in doing so, a lot of paths to textures used in my scenes/scene subsets and saved characters were suddenly broken and had to be hunted down & reloaded manually from the Windows folders. A real pain in the bum. I've been going back into some scenes as reworking them with the Advanced Ambient and Spotlights in place of UE so I need those saved paths intact.

When I restored the original directory mapping, the path error issues with the textures went away, but the broken path issues with loading V4 returned (and just V4, none of the other older generation figures, I tested them all).

Then reinstall V4. Don't forget any of the special thingies, though. There's a bat file you need to run. And make sure the PowerLoader thingy is working. There must be a checklist somewhere for this.

    Dana
...did so (as well as re-ran the.bat file) and the issue still persists. According to support at Daz it is because of my setup and directory mapping. Were that the case though, then I should be getting the same error on the base K4 and M4 figures. I don't have the Power Loader installed for either of them and they load just fine.

I never used the Power Loader even back with Studio3A as I didn't want the main figure bloated with all the other unimesh sibling morphs every time it loads. I don't see how having it or not would cause this issue just with V4 and not the others.

...in Grand Rapids Michigan they've had so much snow the ploughing services don't know where to put it all anymore.

Going to get cold again here this week down to 30° on Wednesday & Thursday for the highs and below 20° for the lows. That is cold for here.

Warm buttered corn muffins would sound good.

    Love the Flutterby brown bagger.

I just noticed that some items on Renderosity are on sale. I should buy some older stuff for the generation 3 figures before the clearance ends.

edit: it seems that half of the clothes and skin textures only work in Poser 6 or above. The other half work in Poser 6 and Daz Studio 3+.

...another day of aches & pains. Doesn't say so on the WC site but I'm feeling it.

Experiencing leg and foot cramps most of the day which make me have to lay down again. Also ribs that were cracked when I was clipped by a careless speeding cyclist several years ago are acting up. I think this next cold snap may be worse than they are predicting.

Game was a real bust, 43 - 8. Manning looked more like Mark Sanchez of the Jets. 4 turnovers, ugh. That touchdown run on the kickoff to start the second half pretty much sealed it. Could see the hopelessness on the faces of the Denver players on the bench for the rest of the game after that.

Well, we got at least another three or four inches here. Tomorrow is going to be nice. But Wednesday we're going to be clobbered again. I'm in the area that is just bordering the 3"-6" and 6"-10" areas. If the storm shift just slightly to the south, we'll definitely be in the 6"-10" zone. Then another one might be coming on Sunday! :-/ I hate the winter!

I haven't seen the phrase application/octet-stream since the 1990s. wow

...they can be noisy buggers though.

"Bird sat" once and even with the cage covered it wouldn't keep quiet. High pitched sounds and I don't get along very well and I didn't get a lot of sleep that week.
