There is no specific version for Win8...there's a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version. Other than that, it's either Windows or Mac.
iv'e downloaded the desktop app (install manager) and it says the products are installed however i cannot find where they are installed to in this new windows 8, i guess it's just a case of search and eventually the installed software will be found
thank you for quick reply
Did the installation put a shortcut icon on your desktop? I'm working with Windows 7 and usually don't allow it to put the shortcut icon on my desktop because I like my desktop pristine, so to speak, but if you have the shortcut icon, you can right-click it, and under Properties, it will have a "Target" field, and that's usually the path to your software.
Hope that helps.
This doesn't suprise me. I've yet to come across a fellow computer professional who actually likes Windows 8 and considers it an improvement on Windows 7.
You did install the application, not just the content? Try just typing Studio at the Start screen - the one with all the tiles - and look on the right-hand side of the screen for the results. Windows 8 added everything to the Start screen, but 8.1 is more restrained and may not be adding Ds (though I think you should still get a shortcut on your desktop). Once you have it you can pin it to Start or to the desktop taskbar.
At this point I bow out...don't have 8 or 8.1 or any desire for either. So, I'm at a loss...but, Richard's idea should get it running if it actually successfully installed.
Thank you both for your replies- @ Miss B, i have got the app like you asked (as windows 8 works on apps not links) I got it sorted so far has i now have the installer on my 'desktop'
@Richard- hmmm i relooked it's a strange one has it says content installed, but no software to load up, i got it pinned to start finally, lol that was a nightmare in itself just to work that out haha!
mjc1016- hahaha bow out i think if i knew before what i know today i may of bowed out aswell, but am afraid i had to upgrade on my new computer. typical isnt it, get the graphics and 3D just perfect, and the windows edition is not big enough.
Here's a screenshot of what i get so you all know what i'm meaning, and i'll try and search through this new windows 8 to find the file it's saved it's in
thank you again for the help
OK, my apologies, as I didn't see your second post that you were using Windows 8. Like Mjc1016, I have no desire to touch Windows 8 (or any variant thereof) with a 1,000 foot pole.
That said, however, I was at a friend's house on Monday, and their new laptop is running Win 8 (or 8.1), so I got a first hand look at the "apps on the desktop" issue. ~shudder shudder~
Anyway I think, if I'm reading your last post above correctly, the error message you're getting is from within DIM, and you're asking how to set up the correct path for your installations of Bryce and Photoshop 3D Bridge content. If that's the issue, then when you have DIM open, click on the small Cog icon in the top right corner to open up a dialog box which will allow you to configure DIM to your liking.
There are 4 tabs, and the 3rd one, Installation, is the one you want for setting up the paths for installation to the different software apps you want to install to.
At the bottom left of the dialog box is a "+" sign, and if you click on it, it gives you a small dialog box that allows you to give the installation path a label, and a button to click to surf to the location of the desired software. You can repeat this for each software application you want to use DIM to install content to, i.e., Bryce, DAZ|Studio, Poser, Carrara, Photoshop, etc.
Hope that helps.
Click on the gear icon at top-right of the Install Manager to open its preferences, then click on the Applications tab - do you have entries for Photoshop and Bryce (assuming you have Bryce installed)? If not you need to click the + button (2.), then in the dialogue that opens (3.) pick your application and version from the lists, then click the ... button to select teh folder the application is installed to.
Thank you for the help and fast replies, i managed to download one of the programme's so will do as you said above, and work through, have a nice end to your weekend :)
