Compatibility Matrix is nice...

The new Compatibility Matrix showing what items work with what figures is very nice, good job with that. You might want to add Sickleyield's Genesis 2 Male and Female clones though; I don't have them but they supposedly help Genesis 2 clothing fit back to the original Genesis.

Thanks!

As much as we forget, Hitomi is a 3rd-party character. It had significant support at release time, but it's still a 3rd party character like any of the other ones, so it's not likely to get its own spot.

The matrix only goes back to Generation 4. I know Genesis 1 has Generation 3 legacy shapes...

Hitomi is not a DAZ Original figure, though I would suspect the compatibility would be similar to DAZ Original Genesis figures in terms of Morphs and Clothing, Hair and Props. The only thing would be textures. I'm not sure what UV Hitomi uses. That would determine texture compatibility.

Since Gen1, Gen2, and Gen3 figures, clothing, etc. are still in the store and still utilized by some (such as myself), it would be nice if they were added to the Matrix as well.

This matrix is great, I just wish similar things had been available for the previous generations at the time they were going strong, it would have prevented a lot of confusion and frustration.
Anyone know of an offline version of this matrix, something better formatted for printing?

Older generation content was left out of the compatibility matrix because there isn't much cross compatibility for it. If you have a 3rd Gen figure or earlier you really can only use content designed specifically for that figure. There isn't much point in giving a 3rd gen item its own spot on the compatibility chart since the only thing listed under it would be itself.

If you look at the compatibility matrix you will notice that 3rd Generation figures are listed as Semi-Compatible under Clothing, Hair, and Props for the Generation 5 figures. You just have to have the corresponding gen 3 shape for Genesis.

Yes, I see that now. :) It was my mistake. It was so super hyped on release, I thought it was a DAZ.
It has its own, unique UV. But yes, a Genesis base for everything else.
    Thanks much for the reply.

Correct me if Im wrong, but one of the biggest advantages of Gen3 figures was its cross compatiblity with textures. Example, a M3 texture could basically work on ANY Gen3 figure other than itself, such as D3, H3, F3, along with Gen3 females as well.

This is also the case regarding morphs and poses is it not?

textures worked even the with baby, so you could have mini dwarves with beards. I don't think the morphs were interchangeable though

Some products utlized morphs from other figures other than their own.
    Ex: http://www.daz3d.com/rpg-series-part-1-dwarves

I think there are more, but i remembered this one specifically.

And I wasnt aware the baby could use any Gen3 texture as well. Thx!

Personally I think the Compatibility Matrix is great. Though I knew most of the information already, it helped clarify a few points I was unsure about...now I'm off to update my own post on cross-generational compatibility.

My only suggestion is that it should specify what content is compatible or semi-compatible with the base figures Genesis, G2 Female, and G2 Male.

Yep, I'm thrilled that this is here. "What works with what figure and zomg are V5 and V6 separate figures or what?" is the most common point of newbie confusion on these forums. Kudos, DAZ folks.
