How do I keep my characters body parts from passing through clothing?

When I set a pose for my character how can I keep her feet from coming through her skirt? I attached an example of what I mean. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you have any body handles in the skirt of that dress? If you do you could play around with those to get the skirt to match the leg position.

I tried doing that but with poor results due to the way the dress is sectioned off I guess. I was hoping there was some kind of collision detection that would cause the material to wrap around the foot.

Nope, your going to have to either POSE the skirt or learn deformers and use them on the skirt if it does not have the built in morphs needed.

Being pretty inexperienced myself, I would use deformers (Once you get used to them they are simple enough)... OR you could simply select the boots and feet or other body parts that poke through and just turn the 'Visible' to OFF.
