Bug or feature?

I don't know if this change is intended in the new DS version or not, but DS 4.12 deletes blanks at the end of name of the render.
I always put a blank at the end of the name for improved readability. (It also makes it easier if I want to change the name of the image).

I would like to have the ability to put space at the end of a name, back.
(Or if there is som knob or switch somewhere I can adjust myself).

  • I'm on a mac using DS 4.12. I saved a scene as Test(space). The file appeared in my files as Test .duf.

    Is that what you meant?

Exactly. But that is not how it works for me anymore.

  • Hopefully someone with a Windows machine can test for you. You may need to contact customer service depending on whether anyone else can come up with a suitable solution or verify your finding.

    I am told

The change is intentional. Leading and trailing whitespace are trimmed. Consecutive whitespace is simplified. Each of these are possible/allowed while editing, but are cleaned up when the text field loses focus or when enter/return is pressed.
