A question or two.
Hi, yeah I have some questions. I would really like to buy Bryce 7 Pro. But I was wondering, If I buy the Bryce 7 Pro bundle, and if it updated. To like, lets say... Bryce 7.6 (Don't quote me on this). Or perhaps even Bryce 8. Would I receive these updates? Or could I download them cost free? Or would i have to re-purchase them. Also I would like to know wether it comes with the whole shebang. Like models, presets, effects etc.
Please do your best to help me soon, I am eager to start Creating 3D worlds :P!

Once you buy any prgram from DAZ 3D it stays in you product library and puts you on to any future upgrade list.
Oh and to answer the 2nd part of your question, yes Bryce 7 pro comes with an enormous content bundle. 670mb of content.
Just one thing to mention. Don't buy Bryce if you use a Mac with one of the newer OS Xs, as it doesn't work in anything higher than OS X Snow Leopard.
PCs are fine, works on all variants of windows.
There is no guarantee that I know of, that all updates to Bryce (if and when they happen) will be free to owners of previous versions. As chohole says, you will be a registered owner, but the cost of updates is a matter for DAZ 3D to sort out as and when they happen.
Thanks for replying so quickly! You guys have cleared eveything up for me :D. Knowing that I wont be missing any features from Bryce upon my purchase, as well as a mixed opinion on to wether or not I will be paying extra for future updates. If I do have to, I will be happy to buy them. I will go ahead and buy it now!
Thank you! ;-)
Updates and upgrades are 2 different things. All updates to Bryce 7 have been free so far. However when it went from Bryce 5 to Bryce 5.5, although it may seem a point update it was actually treated as an upgrade and was a paid for one.
Glad you mentioned that Cho, as I was already using Bryce 5 when I first joined DAZ, and I purchased "both" Bryce 5.5 and Bryce 6 (and eventually Bryce 7), so yes updates and upgrades are 2 different animals, so to speak.
Um, I have purchased Bryce 7 Pro. And it doesn't seem to be showing up in my DAZ Install Manager. I am aware that I could download it manually from a download mirror from the site using my web browser. But as I have a wifi connection it can become slightly unstable. It only cuts out frequently for a very short period of time, but this is enough to disrupt my download process. And as it doesn't have resume support I can not resume the download. But DAZ seems to have resuming support, so I would like to know wether It's possible to download it using DAZ.
Also I have logged into the Install Manager using my account I purchased Bryce 7 with.
Thanks.
Bump.
Please, I really want this sorted out.
You will need to set DIM to show Programs in the Settings. Or you could just use your My Account and My Products and use the DIM setting from there.
I have checked my DIM Settings/Downloads tab and can see Bryce ticked along with a number of other programs and packages. I have also gone to my "My Account" and "Product Library" page, and have clicked on both Bryce 7 and Bryce 7 Pro. I can see the "Manual" download button, but theres nothing under "Install Manager Ready". So i'm thinking that the "Install Manager Ready" tab thinks that Bryce is in my DIM waiting to be downloaded, which I can't prove to be correct.
Bryce 7 isn't currently available through DIM, just the content that comes with it. For the application itself you need to download from My Account Product Library here: http://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/#prod_11035
(Note that the application itself is on the Bryce 7 page -- the Bryce 7 Pro page only has the additional downloads that aren't in the standard version.)
Alright well I suppose I will try my luck with my shoddy IP and download it manually through my browser.
I'll report back if it works or not.
Thanks.
No luck there, tried atleast 5 times with 4 differant browsers. As I say, Wfi-fi is the best darn service I can get my hands on. It's good for everything else except browser download mirrors. I receive about a average of about 800kb/s, but it just cuts out for like a second every 2 minutes or so. It works fine for like youtube, and resumable download clients like DIM and so on. I'm pretty sure I should be able to download it using DIM (Correct me if i'm definetly wrong). So perhaps my Install Manager hasn't linked to my account properly? Or somthing along the lines of that. Anyway the only other thing I can think of is if an administrator set me up with a private and tempory torrent link to the downloads? If not, could someone suggest anything else to me please?
Thanks.
Have you made certain, when you got a failed download, to clear your Browser cache between download attempts. The failed download can stay in the cache and cause subsequent download attempts to fail.
I tried what you said several times chohole, and it still doesn't work :(... I'm still getting disrupted downloads. Maybe I could somehow download Bryce using the Wget program. Incase you didn't know what Wget is, it's a Command Prompt download client which is usefull for managing broken files and resuming them. But if thats out of the question, I think I am reaching the end of my tether abit here... But in any case, please do try and keep sending me suggestions on where to go next.
Thanks.
I can't think of anything that could help, apart form buyiong a USB thingy and going to an internet cafe or maybe local library and downloading it from there.
I have an absolutely abysmal broadband connection and yet manage to download files of this size and larger.
Thanks chohole :)! A freind came to mind when I read your last post, he's a computer whizzkid who was happy to download it for me :smirk:. I'm heading over there later to pick it up. Fingers crossed I wont run in to any problems.
Thanks!
OK! It's all sorted! I popped the disk in, installed all the files successfully, put in my serial key. And am now learning the ropes . I guess theres no more excuses, time to make some cool renders!
Thank you guys!
Great I am glad you are up and running. Any questions, do ask, if I can't answer them, then I know a man who can. :coolsmirk:
