Please allow larger thumbnails - it's 2019 :)

If we lived in 205, I'd be willing to accept a 91x91 thumbnail, but with 4K screens increasingly common, and hardware being powerful, I really don't see why we're still stuck with these tiny thumbnails. Try to discern one pose from the next in  a pose collection - it's damn near impossible.

Hoping VERY MUCH that this will soon make it into a release.

    i hate screen resolution race

it makes old content look worse

in the end you need both modern highres monitor and vintage crt or smth

  • render a png and rename it to the thumbnail and replace it

  • I agree with the OP on this one, larger (even if only as popups) icons would be better. Sorry SadKitty, but that is a rather Luddite viewpoint. We could also make our own Pose sets, Morph sets, Texture sets etc. We could, but most people don't have the time.

Luddite would have been suggesting just text or generic icons cheeky

I am not a PA I refuse to take the blame for their choices but I do render my own bigger thumbnails for stuff I make for myself wink

Some items come with bigger “tip” icons which appear when you mouse over the thumbnail. It could be nice if more content creators provided those.

Daz Studio works fine with larger thumbnails, you just have to scale them up yourself.  I don't know why creators make them so small either.  Maybe they're following some strict guidelines, and if they make them larger, their project will get rejected by Daz.

I also have another pet peeve when eye, hair, and other colors are called "Color1,Color2" instead of "Brown,Red,Black".  I absolutely hate that, because I can't discern dark red from brown sometimes.  Drives me nuts.  Give me color names, not numbers.

    Bigger thumbnails would be nice!

The current size was fine when consumer monitor resolutions were lower, but if you have QHD or better, the thumbnails get pretty tiny.  When you consider that a lot of us Daz customers are getting on in age, an increase in size would be seen as a very kind courtesy.

You can make your own, and PAs can add a .tip up to 256; I create some at 512, usually for my own stuff. I agree that larget thumbs would be better.

Wish there was a way to auto save scene icons at a much higher size without all the extra steps...have to squint to see whos in the past scenes I've made, lol

I usually add a .tip image to our product icons as well (256x256 in size). As far as I'm aware, I'm unsure if we can add any bigger tip images, but 256 seems a good size to see the details properly.

  • Tip icons can be bigger than 256x256. 512px does work for all tip pngs. If you are using a PC monitor sized 4K or 5K monitor even 256 can be quite small. and 91px for the icons are a rediculous requirement. Fortunately I only use DS to play with, I generally do 3D CAD (all mechanical) so I use a 43" 4K monitor, 256px works but 512px is much better.

And on top of that 91x91 PNGs (in your hard drive) are actually displayed at 87x87 in the contents libraries. Shame...

Looking for a batch render solution, I found a very useful plugin "Render Queue" by a guy on DAZ3D store called ManFriday. This plugin was so cool that I had a look at the others and asked my boss to get : "Turbo Content" from the same coder. And damn, it's a game changer. If you want bigger icons, much faster search in the library, etc, you should give this a try :

EDIT : It's working only with Smart Content. So more or less if you've got content from other websites and they haven't been installed through DIM and/or have no metadata, you won't even see them in "Turbo Content". I got all excited about it but at the end it's useless.
