It's possible to use different UV-mapped textures on same figure?

I have a genesis 8 female figure with a genesis 2 female skin mapped onto it thanks to the useful Legacy UV tool.

I'd like to apply a tattoo from one of the new Inked sets, one which uses the genesis 8 UV maps.

Is there a way to accomplish this? Or, if not, how can i convert a genesis 2 texture in a genesis 8 one?

Thanks!

I’m afraid it’s not possible to use an overlay for on UV set on a texture for another UV set directly.

To convert the textures you could use Blacksmith3D Texture Transformer with the female add-on pack (both available at Renderosity), it has the option to go from G2 to G3 and G8 can use G3 textures. It’s rather pricey if you only mean to convert one character though.

    You could also try this:

    • Load a second copy of G8F, and give her the same morphs and pose as the first one
    • Apply the tattoo to it
    • Make all body parts transparent except the ones where the tattoo is
    • Apply an opacity map to the part where the tattoo is so that only the tattoo is visible => you should be able to create one from the tattoo texture file if there’s not one included: it should be white where the tattoo is and black everywhere else
    • Apply a very small push modifier to G8F2 so it’s slightly above the original G8F skin

Couldn't you use a geoshell and change the UV layout of it with the actual figure being different? I haven't trioed it, but in theory
