Creating buildings & assets for 3d game

First off...
I'm totally new here and am just getting into the daz studio and my mind is blown. I've used game engines ue3/4, unity and some others in the past and have a strong background in photoshop / illustrator which in previous experiences taught me that devs don't give a shit about the users. But this is not the case with daz....you did it backwards and made it the way it's supposed to be made. At least this is my opinion on the very short time (1 hour) with daz studio. Finally some software that is easy to use, understand and is supported by the users too.

While i'm sure my first 20 or so creations will be shit, I can't wait to see what I can come up with once I get the hang of it. I have not really done much with 3d modeling (maya, blender etc....) so I have to wrap my head around those aspects still.

For those of you that have assets in the store already like the buildings.....are those made with daz or did you build them with something else?

My current project is a wild west gunslinger game dev so I'm looking at all the wild west / outlaws / cowboys and old west assets right now and some will work and some I will have to build myself.
Thanks so much for the time and effort put into developing this tool and community. (and no I dont get paid to say nice things & am not an employee here lol)

You can't model in DAZ Studio (DAZ or DAZ3D is the company).

For modelling, you'd have to go into other programs, like Blender, Hexagon, ZBrush...

  • yeah I figured that out last night after I posted lol....but thx for reply.

  • New to the 3D world altogether and I'm fascinated by it.  Any suggestions on which software would be best/easiest to use for someone getting their feet wet?

I'm especially interested in creating structures....
