4.12 General release lost keyboard controls

How do I restore the keyboard controls for Studio 4.12 general release?
Here's the background: I normally use the general release for setting up scenes and characters, then use the Beta for dForce and rendering, as I've set the Beta up with different, and fewer, panes for simplicity, and that's how I've worked for months now, with previous versions of Studio, and then the current releases. Two days ago I closed the general release as usual and everything was working; next day, when I opened the general release I could no longer use the Delete key to delete items from the scene, and had to use mouse controls. As well, using the Enter key no longer functioned as usual - now I have to press Enter twice to bring up a dialogue box to get it to work.
I had not made any changes to any of Studio's controls (as far as I know). And resetting factory defaults in Preferences makes no difference. As for Studio 4.12 Beta, it works as usual.
Can any one offer suggestions to restore the keyboard controls?
Comments
press F3 that load "Customize Daz Studio" window
then press DEFAULT to restore all to default
Thanks, but that was one of the first things I tried and it did nothing to help. Keep offering suggestions, though, because it's easy for me to miss the obvious.
You pressed F3 and nothign happened, or you went to Window>Workspace>Customise and used the default option without success? How about Window>Workspace>Select Layout?
Well, pressing F3 can't work, as none of the keyboard controls work, but I went through every menue option (using the mouse) including all the workspace options, and the preference options. I also did Google searches, and did not find anything to help there.
All without any success.
Try going to
%AppData%/daz 3s/studio4/
(just paste that into the adderss bar on a file window for Windows) and remove the actions.dsx file, while DS is closed, then restart DS.
Thanks! I'll give it a try and post the results here.
Unfortunately, deleting actions.dsx did not fix the problem. Thanks for the suggestion, Richard.
I had two versions of actions.dsx, but I used the time stamp to work out which one belonged to the general release, then double checked after re-opening Studio (I tried this idea twice).
Keep those ideas coming in please![smiley smiley](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
Path should have been
%AppData%/daz 3d/studio4/
and there should be only one actions.dsx. If you open it in a text editor you should see the Accel for each command listed, like this
<Action Accel="Del" Class="DzDeleteAction" ShowTextWithIcon="false"/>
do you have entries like that (for soem actions, others won't have accelerators)?
I'll have a look. And I think I have two actions.dsx files because I use two versions of Studio.
When I open actions.dsx for the general release there are no listings for any keyboard keys, but there are a lot in the actions.dsx file for the Beta. I would think copying the action lines from the Beta to the general release may work?
EDIT: No... adding the files did not work. Luckily, I saved a backup of the unmodified file.
And copying the whole of the Beta actions.dsx to overwrite the general release actions.dsx made no difference.
Back to the drawing board. I'll wait another day or two, and then take this problem to Tech Support.
And here is the unmodified list of lines from the actions.dsx file for the misbehaving general release.
re install DAz
I had re-installed Studio earlier, even though I knew that does not change much.
