Ensure that both the model is selected as well as a surface on that model before applying the pwToon shader and it should work. If it's still not working, ensure that pwToon is properly installed as you might be clicking on a preset intended for use with the shader. Some presets simply adjust settings on an existing pwToon shader rather than applying the shader itself (similar to Crescent's pwToon shaders which I have linked below).

The Default pwToon is pretty hard to see until you render. It will not Change the Viewport all that much.
Rendering shows no difference. Plus, it still says DS Defaultv shader in Surfaces.

Also be VERY sure that you have the LAST pwShaders update installed.
I think it was just that he .sdl wasn't installed. I tossed it in and BAM.
