Unhide Feet with shoes on?

Hi, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put shoes on a Character but unhide the geometry for their feet. I have look in the Geometry groups and the "+' is Greyed out. I can select the feet I can do all of that but as soon as I put the shoe on there it autohides the Geometry of the feet. I need the feet when I export to Maya for a whole list of reasons. Currently I have been Exporting the shoes seperate and skining them in Maya. This is a huge waste of time if I coudl just figure this out so that when I export the shoes are Skined but the feet are not deleted but poking through. I will hid them in Maya. Any help would be massivly appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

  • It sounds as if the shoes are set up as geoGrafts, so that they hide the areas of the feet within the shoes. You could try exporting with the Geometry Editor tool active - that stops GeoGrafts from hiding polygons in the scene, but I'm not sure if it affects exports (and I can't check just now). Alternatively you could, with the base figure selected and the shoes fitted, use the Geometry Editor to pick a polygon you don't need, right-click in the Viewport>Geometry Asignment>Set Auto-Hide Faces for Attachment, and then pick the shoes in the next dialogue.
