Red blocks in render
Ok, total embarrassing noob question: What do I need to set to get rid of the red blocks in my render of this Cavefolk dress? I have spent 2 hours looking for answers in documentation and forums, but the mystery remains... I have seen similar selection? blocks on other items, but never used any.
Thanks

If you Expand the Dress in the Scene Tree look for Handles or Helpers, turn those off with the EYE icon. If it has none of those listed Open it in the Surfaces Tab and find them in the Materials list. Set them to 0% Opacity and they will be gone.
These are handles for morphing the dress. They may or may not function correctly in DAZ studio.
I don't have that clothing, but many clothes with handles will have a material preset to turn the handles off.
If you cannot find that, then select the clothing item and go to the surface pane. There should be a section for the handles. Find the entry for Opacity on that section and turn the opacity to zero. That should get rid of the handles.
:-) Perfect, that worked!
In general making the bones invisible is better than making the surfaces transparent as the render still has to run calculations for transparent surfaces, but it ignores invisible bones. However if you AutoFit an item to another figure the handles will no longer be separate bones and transparency is the best bet.
LOL! I sort of told them to check for Bones first, as in check the Scene Tab tree first. The fact the render engine sees everything in the Scene if ON is the reason the Surface Tab should always be a last resort. Transparent is still calculated so lighting and shadowing for other areas of the render are correct is one thing that all users should keep in mind.
