Well there used to be a fantastic collection but it's moved elsewhere and it certainly was not free.
We can't link to commercial websites so Google on over to Turbosquid and set up an account [they'll keep your downloads available until they are no longer available for free] ... and search for birds, free ... skip the max files ... look for .obj files [or any file that your programs can open] ... there's a nice looking one going by its promo, of a penguin that has an .obj file.
Hivewire 3D has the birds you need to buy if you can find it via Google

Also scroll down to the lower part of the page and there is a Puffin that has not been categorized yet. But you are right no listing of a Pelican yet.
