Where to purchase customized characters?

edited December 1969 in The Commons

Hi everyone,

First off, I can't believe I'm finally posting here ... I've been a Poser user/DAZ visitor for about 10-11 years now. About that time, I created a series of short animations based off the Silent Hill franchise, called Silent Hill: No Escape, and used 100% Poser software. Back then, I was new to 3D and self-taught, so obviously it's SEVERELY dated, but since then I've gone to school for animation and have worked VFX on a few small theatrical films.

Anyway, I'm gearing up to animate and produce a short film, using Poser characters rendered in Cinema 4D environments. While I love the HUGE collection of available models, I'm looking for more customization based off a more specific art style. All this is still being worked on, but I figured I'd ask in advance ... Are there any vendors around here that offer services to fully build and rig custom characters? I'd love to check a few out, and see if I can get some rough quotes.

Thanks!

While I do not, I know 3D Universe does and you can check out his commisions info here - http://www.3duniverse.co.za/page/?commissions

What art style are you looking for?

Thanks Mattymanx, I'll have to check that out. That actually works really well as I've thought about defaulting to some of 3D Universe's characters, though I would need various morphs and specific clothing sets.

Icprncss, the art style is still being worked on as I'm in the early stages. For a while, I thought about 3D Universe's Hiro Toon 4 and Aiko Toon 4 if I couldn't get something customized. There are more abstract elements I would need, almost along the lines of this scene from Harry Potter. I just figured at this early stage, I should figure out what's available to me, and what I can/can't do.

You also might want to consider contacting Sixus1 Media.

The sell primarily at RDNA. They specialize more in creature creation as opposed to toons.

    Their primary website is Sixus1.com.
