Ah, flashlight mouth. It's the SSS. Take a look through this thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/12943/

Simple Answer. Not having SHADOWS on for all lights in the Scene when Rendered.

Check the settings for the inner mouth and tongue...then see if there are any ambient turned on there...if so turn it off.

If that doesnt help, then you will have to dig into the actual SSS settings.

Basically, if you don't have the mouth open, there isn't really any need to have SSS turned on in it...

    Fukushima.

The inner mouth is scattering light through the skin because they both share the same group ID.
Use different SSS group numbers for the inner mouth and the skin so they ignore each other.

Long live the Luxrender not having this or over exposed skin is a joy of using it...

I probably shouldn't show you some of my Luxrender skin material tests then. Some of those were far worse, with the entire head looking like a lightbulb...

Some characters come with presets to turn the mouth SSS off (like V6 Belle). It will be under the materials.

Now that sane answers have been presented perhaps we can add to the Fukishima reply by suggesting "chewing radium gum".

maybe it is evolution? a natural reaction to climate change and the need to save energy so the human body evolved its own illumination like the creatures in the deep sea :)

to be honest, these sss textures are not as good as the ordinary textures so it seems, i don`t like the sss stuff

As much as I love uysing Luxus, LuxRender does this kind of issues all the same.

Any renderer that does SSS will do it. It's the nature of what we are working with...we aren't using actual 'solids', but rather defining boundaries...and if those boundaries overlap or are aligned in a certain way, getting a 'double dose' of the effect is inevitable.

Or maybe she tried to eat a firefly. :)

Neither do I. I have skin textures that aren't SSS and they are just as good looking. Plus, SSS skin textures make it nearly impossible for me to "fake" a body suit look the way I want because of the way the SSS works. Which is why I avoid using SSS skin textures as much as possible.

But you'd have to be a Secret Worlder to get that one. :)

What causes BF2's lips to glow like that?

Like Jaderail said, put shadows on all your lights. Otherwise the back of her scalp doesn't stop light from shooting through her mouth.

I refer to this effect as "lava mouth". I noticed this using the Interjections package. What I'd like to know is, will it be sufficient to use ShadowMap shadows, or is required to use Raytraced shadows?

In Truth when using SSS you should never use lighting without shadows. The SSS will cause the glow in the surface material as it should but without shadowing to Direct the falloff the Glow is transmitted as a light to all surrounding surfaces. Thus the GLOW can be caused from no shadows on the SSS surface. Shadows is not the only cause but often it is just lighting in the scene when its a simple test as this one looked to be.

Lights used as fill lights with an intensity of 25% or less and set to Diffuse Only don't have to have shadows. At low intensity they won't cause nuclear glow but they still effect SSS and can make it too 'hot'. Making the color for SSS duller and darker will turn down the heat.

well because I work with my v4/m4 characters and have fixed their skin textures with tan lines and tattoos and other nice highlights I do not use other skin textures :) I have my character Dixie that has the natasha elite skin fixed by me and I have some m4 characters also with fixed textures, overall I have 6 selfmade human characters that I use plus some monsters/creatures/demons also self created out of different morph and texture sets plus the homo erectus for m4 that is what I use most of the time except some of mrl skins but from her sets I also just use the normal textures not the sss
