Sale offer flash banners MUST BE REDESIGNED next time!

I just got badly bitten by the way the new top-of-page special sale offer banner is laid out. You saw the standard "X" close icon in the corner? Guess what's right under it the millisecond after you click... the "logout" link. I didn't want to use the offer (won't be buying $50+ of goodies in the next hour or so) so I clicked on the close — and I must have clicked with a finger-bounce, because I was immediately logged out.

Bad layout idea. Bad design. Horribly accident-prone. Excessively annoying. Please don't do it that way again, DAZ.

I am not seeing any banner I need to click to close, mine scrolls. Just log back in, not seeing the issue..

I just got one! It was a red bar the length of the browser about the same height of a menu bar. It had a message that the 10% off an order of $50 or more was due to expire at the end of the day with today's date. There was a typical windows X button on the far right to close the bar.

I was in the middle of reading the forums. Logging back in again messes up the "last logged in" time used to determine what's a new post I might not have read yet, and what isn't. Usually when this happens, I need to play "hunt the new posts" in each different forum one at a time. This is slow, annoying and irritating, and does not make me a happy kitty.

As you are well aware this is a new feature. We launched it to a test segment. Sorry that you were inconvenienced. I'll bring up the design layout in our marketing meeting today.

I can't guarantee anything will change, but it is worth discussing.

    Thanks for the feedback.

If you are part of the test segment, you can find a heading on your account page Messages. Click on it an you get three buttons: inbox, exclusive offer and newsletters.

The exclusive offers button will list all current exclusive offers.

You don't even have to worry about the banner ads.

Thanks for that info - I accidentally "x"-ed mine without fully reading and it wouldn't come back - now I have it to look at properly :-)

So it's legit? I got one for $6 off my next order and pressed the x and thought I somehow got a virus on my iphone

It's legit. If you don't want to mess with the banners, just check Messages on your account page.

It wasn't in any forum sticky that I remember. I was checking my account history and noticed there was a new heading at the top. I clicked on it and ended up at the page. Before Midnight there were two offers: spend fifty dollars and get an extra 10 percent and the code for getting $6 off your next order if you spend $30.
