How to add color to water.

Hey everyone,

I had purchased two swimming pool sets namely Apartment Patio With pool and the Public outdoor pool. Both these sets or environments are 3delight and Iray supported.

Now, when I try to render this thing in 3delight the water color turns blue, which is OK. But when I try to render it in Iray, the water color becomes transparent.

I tried changing the color by selecting pool water and changing settings in the Surfaces tab, but still it didn't work.

So I want to ask, is there any way to change the color of the water in these environment by any means? Please give me a proper solution .

First, make sure that the water isn't set to "Thin Walled: On". You need the volume properties for this to work well.

What you want to change is the Transmission color. That will make the water shift from clear to a color as it gets deeper. Transmission distance will affect how deep the light travels into the water before it starts to shift from the clear surface color to the darker transmission color.
