Do Daz female characters never bend over?
That's not meant to be click bait; I mean it! I have gone through so many pose packages trying to find natural looking poses for G3 females simply bending a bit to lean on a railing or a chair back (or, like, whatever), either with their forearms folded on top of the [fill in leaned-on item here], or with their arms outstretched and their hands gripping a railing (as in a balcony railing), and its as though nobody in the Daz universe ever heard of such a thing.
I'm so frustrated. And I know, I know, I can probably "create" the pose manually in 1/4 the time I've already spent hoping and expecting to find one. I'm so burnt out, though, at the moment, with manually making poses for animations I'm praying that somebody here knows of some pose package I haven't found yet, and can make make a suggestion. I'm throwing in the towel tonight. If anybody has any practical suggestions that can help me over this latest hump, I would be very grateful indeed.

What you want is specific enough and niche enough that, no, it probably doesn't really exist in the form you want. You'll need to adapt vaguely related poses to your purpose.

What you want can be done with a modeler you need to take the model into the modeler of your choice and make sure you don't change any polygons just move them. Then bring your results back into daz via morph loader pro and then when you pose your character those morphs will be available for you to make the model look more natural. Or you can buy the ones that are offered but the selection is limited and does not cover every pose or situation.
Good land! I think i13's "On the Rails" may be exactly what I need—or at least will get me close enough that I can tweak something from there. I never in the world would have guessed to search for "rails." So thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks, Silver Dolphin, but the "modeler of my choice" is "none."
Seriously, I really do have to count on mostly off-the-shelf models for the kind of thing I do (well, I have done a little kitbashing here and there). And I think vwrangler has provided what looks like a solution to this thing I'm currently confronted with.
It make get this project back—well, back "on the rails," so to speak.
What about " un-hollow back" magnets? A single magnet should just do it.
I have no idea what you mean. The "On the Rails" poses are working for what I needed.
turn the parameter limit's off in the menu on the top left of the pane, then you can do this
Yep. The majority of them I see, I think: Nobody I've ever known stood like that even once. :) They have that, "Look at me, I'm posing" look in so many cases.
There are a few exceptions, for which I am grateful.
I tend to use the pose sets I've purchased as starters or approximations. I then tweak them until they look natural for the activity in which they are supposed to be involved.
If you are still looking for everyday type poses for G3, may I suggest my own?

Cool, I just added these to my cart. Nice poses, Mattymanx!
The Z Utility Kneel Sit Crouch Poses is a nice set. I use them from time to time as starting poses. It's too bad those rail poses are for the G2/G3 ladies. Otherwise I'd be grabbing those now as well.
I use G3 poses on G8 and vice-versa. There are several scripts available with other products that will convert the arms and legs easily, even some free scripts, but it's easy enough to do manually, too.
The shoulder bend is approximate. I've seen different values recommended, but all somewhere between 45 and 46. Take advantage of Daz Studio's math capabilities: Highlight the value to change, move the cursor to the far right of the value, type in the operator, (+ or - for these,) followed by the values above. Then tweak as usual.
Yes, thanks, Mattymanx, yours are definitely among the "few exceptions" I mentioned. It's obvious that you took great care to breathe humanizing life into all of your poses, and I applaud you!
Thanks for that! Great info to have.
Thank you both and you're welcome to both of you!
Whenever limits are turned off, it usually means I'm going to have to make a correction morph at some point (the deformations are mostly not volume preserving, so tend to look unnatural - I suspect you've hidden a sin or two with the camera angle!).
They're not those kind of gals.
This new set for G8F might be of some use; it has a bunch of leaning and sitting poses intended to be less "pinup style."

Very nice too. No bend-from-the-hip poses but some useful and different ones nevertheless. I have quite a few sets from FeralFey - all used often.
