Import Poser file?

I know that Daz can use a lot of Poser files but I've never gotten an outside file specifically FOR Poser before and now I'm thinking I want to buy such a file.
It's from the r site (I can't put that name here or a link, right, or it will get this message deleted by the forum Gods) and it just says "Poser 7 or above" but doesn't specifiy the file type. Am I safe in buying this?

Do you mean Renderotica? Mentioning, without linking, is fine.
Does the zip containa Runtime folder? If so merge that with the Runtime in your usual cntent diectory (e.g. the My Daz 3D Library folder and, as long as the content diectory is set to be a Poser Format content diectory as well as a DS Format cotent directory, the content should eb there. Of course if it uses Poser 7+ featues, most likely materials, it will probably need adjustment in DS if nothing more.
No, it's Renderosity. It's just a car (albeit a pretty wonderful one). And I have no idea what kinds of files it provides because it doesn't say and the creator isn't responding to emails. I just want to know if I can import it somehow.
I'll try -- here's the link (if this gets this deleted then so be it): https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/delahaye-figoni-falaschi-1938-bundle-for-poser-/92583
Actually the decription says "A bundle of two characters ( cr2 )", and the readme (which is available from the product page) lists the files available. It its a product in Poser format provided in a runtime structure.
As Leana says It's a CR2 and is stored in the character libraries, which means it is probably a rigged figure. Thu will have an OBJ in the Geometry library which the CR2 will call on, but it would be a static OBJ if you do manage to import that into DS.
So we're saying this will work for me? You say "if you do manage to import that" which suggest that I probably can't.
It will probably work, though you will almost certainly need to rework the materials (there are some Iray car-paint sahder presets included with DS, and glass shader presets for the windows).
Not "can't", more "don't need to". The .obj file mentioned is not the same as the .cr2 file you see in the Content Library tab — when you click on the thumbnail in Content Library, that loads the .obj file.
It's how Poser content files work; the .obj file contains the mesh geometry (the shape of the object), the figure or prop file contains materials settings and data that refers to the .obj file so Poser can set it up as an object in your scene, with moving parts (if it has any). DAZ|Studio can load (not "import") the vast majority of Poser content, except for Poser dynamic hair or cloth, and Poser materials.
And the rigging should be fine. Since it will work in Poser 7 that means it must use legacy rigging, which makes sense for most hard-bodied props. The textures should load fine if they use maps, although bump and glossiness settings may need adjusting - but that ia for 3Delight. For Iray you'll need to convert to compatible shaders. Or, as Richard mentioned, you could just select each surface and replace the defaults with an appropriate Iray or 3Delight material (which you then will probably want to save as a preset for later use.
