Aspect frame showing ONLY on Render Tab (how?)

- used to be, the Aspect Frame that shows the "soon to Render shape" only showed up when I went to the Render Settings tab. It would not be there in the regular viewport.

Now, the Aspect Frame is either on or off. How do we get it back to the way it was?

I'd like to see it when I'm working on the render settings, but NOT see it when I work in the regular viewport.

The aspect Frame has always been On or Off for me (since Studio 4.5).
