Two Video Cards (gtx+rtx ???)

Hello!

My current set up has RTX2060 8Gb gpu but also I have my old GTX1050 4Gb.

It looks like a good idea to add about 700 CUDAs but will it be a really good idea?

I know about VRAM limit. But what I don't know if new card used some RTX features that help it work even better and won't RTX slow it down?

  • Each card is handled separately, so if the 4GB card has to drop out due to memory then 8GB card will still keep going. How much of a bost the 1050 will give I don't know - it isn't just about core count when comparing across generations - but I would think it might help noticeably.

If your system can handle the watts, there's no reason not to. I have a RTX2080ti and a GTX1070ti and they both run together fine.

Yeah, power not a problem. Thanks, now I see it's working configuration. Just wasn't sure if gtx and rtx technologies work together in Daz.

The only problem I had with GTX 970 and RTX 2070 is the former fitting in the case.  I don't recommend my solution (a pair of pliers and a now bent drive bay in the case).  Otherwise they work well together and will reduce your render times noticably (disclaimer as always is scene complexity).

After tests I can say it works fine. Also if a scene more 4gb then only one card works and it doesn't skip both GPUs as I was afraid.

But bad news is that second 1050it not really helps a lot, it adds 15-20% more iterations at the same time. Not really impressive.
