Can I save a character to be independent?

Hi. I made a character based on genesis 8 female, customizing it using many different models/assets/props and now I want to save it, but I don't understand the program very well and I don't know how to save it like an independent character (that doesn't need the assets used any more) Is there a way to do that? I want to be able to use this character even if I am on another computer without all my assets. And if that for some reason is not possible, is there a way to at least save the character in a file that includes only the assets used with that character? I want to make this character as independent and portable as possible.

That isn't really the way the system works. If you bake to a single morph you still need that file, and you wil lose a lot of function ality (all the corrections that make the shapes mix nicely with posing and other shapes). If you save a nwe figure you will have just as many files to keep track of, and you won't be able to add new products.
It doesn't has to be only one file, I just want to know how to save it as portable and small as posible. Right now I feel like I need to carry my 10 Gb of assets with this character in order to be able to use it.
As pointed out, that is pretty much how it is designed to work. the key to it being portanle is to save it as a preset so that any other user, or yourself can load it up in any other version of DS with the apporpriate addons installed also.
So there is no way I can make my character to be like all the others that are on the store?
No, but. If you are using morphs from Daz products, and if the system you are working on can go online (and if you are willing to enter your log-in detaisl on it) then DS will prompt you to download and install any missing morphs. That doesn't help with custom morphs or content from other stores or freebies, but it may at least simpify matters. If a store product uses other morph sets it has the same issue - the morph sets are required products that must be installed for the character to work.
Do you mean save a Scene with only the Character, Clothing, and Accessories Nodes to later merge into other environments?
OR Save as "Scene Subset"?
Otherwise, yeah you'll have to deal with the headaches of breaking it down into pieces saved seperately exporting, modeling, sculpting, importing, and transfering morphs and materials.
Baby steps, it takes years, Im still stepping around holes. Im currently trying to beat the Weight Mapping and Dforce Level .
