Daz Studio 4.12 Iray ignores geograft if zoomed out but works closeup

It worked just fine until 4.12 but from that update my geografts don't work. They take on materials from base g8m or g8f character and then I added a shell over it. Now the shel works fine but if I zoom out (~2-3m from genesis) the geograft itself doesn't render, there is just a hole where the geograft should be. Zoom in and it renders. BTW its not a ground in the way issue, you can zoom out laterally and it still doesn't render in 4.12.

Does anybody know how to fix it or should I tell my customers to avoid Daz Studio 4.12?

  • OK, found out that its the shell issue, actuall shell offset issue. If I increase shell mesh offset it shows up but then if I zoom out more it disapears again so its a major problem if the end user needs to adjust the shell mesh offset depending of the render distance. If I remove cutout opacity from the shell completely the same issue is still there. Only shell's mesh offset increase with distance can make it render????? Any ideas?

If it worked fine in 4.11 I guess this is a bug in 4.12. You may report it to the daz support. Please let us know what they reply.
