PlanetVixens stuff not working?

I've been using old BVH - PlanetVixens stuff for decades; I often like to use the shoulder guards and maybe a few other pieces from old sets on new characters. Suddenly though when I try to load them into a scene (every piece I've tried so far and I've done several) I get a crash with this message: "DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\dzcore.dll" at 0033:00000000C88D4452, DzIK::doCreation()+1666 byte(s)" - some of this stuff is amongst my most-used items even with Genesis figures since I can parent them and just run, so does anyone have any ideas why they suddenly don't work? I updated to 4.12 when it came out and I just updated the nVidia drivers on my 1080ti to the latest ones. I went with the creator/studio drivers instead of the gamers drivers. Hm. I just tried loading an older scene I used several of these items in and that loaded fine. So I'm wondering what gives?

Chances are this is IK related, DS4.12 got an IK system and some older Poser content is giving the Poser Importer issues, there is a fix in the pipeline for it but when it shows up is anyones guess.

The stuff you've already saved is now DS native content, so it doesn't go near the Poser importer.

Deleting the "inkyChain" sections in the Poser files will let you load them, or you could try fixing the IK yourself.

It's in the current Public Build (the beta).

Just found where I put my BVH freebies, His Vampirella suit for A3 has 4 IK chains, all are missing a link, result a crash to error report or total CTD on loading.

  • Ok, thanks guys for the info, hope they get that fix out soon. I really do use his shoulder guards (pauldrons?) and sometimes other bits a lot because most of the costumes I have don't have any and they are fun and many of them are still cool-looking; and they take iRay shaders very well. :)

Bejaymac : "Deleting the "inkyChain" sections in the Poser files will let you load them, or you could try fixing the IK yourself." I have no clue how to do that. Knowing me unless your explanation was VERY simple I wouldn't understand it; I may be better off to just wait for their fix. Oddly I haven't seen a lot of problems with other stuff but then BVH tended to want to build stuff so it would fit where it was supposed to and there was always the message about presets being outside limits. It's the only product(s) I'm aware of where I've ever seen that message and I'm guessing this has something to do with what you are saying.
