It's a pretty typical look for the light manga novels and a lot of shojo manga and their anime adaptations. Like my one daughter tells me, "I got a thing for those pretty anime boys!" In the original Fruits Basket, you don't even find out until near the end of the story that one of the characters _is_ actually female, just presenting as male (much to the dismay of all the fangirls!).
I think the name needs more "u"s. :P Anyway I picked up my copy with that 20% banner.
Good bundle for those who waited for a new anime style character, I guess. But I'll skip this one even with 20% off banner.

I've passed on a lot of pro bundles at launch lately because of the clothing. The main thing for me is a lack of variety in shapes, styles, and flexibility, and I wonder if it's due to the speed and volume of releases. They're useful to have for minor or background characters who just need regular clothes, but it's hard to imagine making them the centerpiece of a character design.
This is one area where I don't know how I feel about the sales strategy of assuming everything will be sold at steeply discounted prices, because looking at my cart right now the Yuzuru pro bundle is $25. That's pretty ridiculous for the volume of content included in a bundle. Lately, addons for bundles have become more important to the discount, with the addon category more frequently containing characters and clothing of higher quality. It's not that the stuff in the bundle is awful, but it does more often fall in line with what I'd expect for something they plan to sell for $25-$50. What's made me hesitant to press the button for the last six characters or so is that my overall cart needs to be at $60-$100 to get it down that far. It's harder and harder to pick up stuff I sorta-want-can-probably-use-someday when spending that much.
The reason this sits a little oddly with me is that there's less and less reason to buy a pro bundle outside of a launch window unless it's one of the sales where they get knocked down to $30-ish, and I've been wishlisting them and figuring I can wait for one of those so I don't have to spend a massive chunk of money to get mostly things that I'm not totally in love with at one go.
I do think it's a matter of taste though, since when fantasy or sci-fi heavy bundles come out I see people commenting who would like more real world everyday clothing.

Yeah that's about my only real gripe with the deal but it's not a deal breaker. I mean you have this anime AF character with anime AF hair options and a balling anime AF pose set, but the clothing options are incredibly not-anime themed. Hugely wasted opportunity.
I agree, but I still go ahead and get the Pro Bundles near launch because I don't want to wait to test the character, and there are USUALLY enough items that are immediately useful to make the Bundle price feasible. But I'm not sure if Daz (or the PAs consistently making low-quality Daz Originals) understand that if you make enough poorly constructed/conceived items---no matter how inexpensive they are---that becomes your reputation. Once you get that reputation, some buyers do not bother even clicking on your items---regardless of the 30 day return policy. I mean, some of these pants and shoes in these outfits are not even decent as freebies.
Just as I was looking him over, the theme from X/1999 came up on my playlist. So, he's definately locked in as Kamui Shirou to me now.
If I shuffled my cart right, I could have had him for an effective price of $6.65 today. (Because 20+ of the $1.99 items becomes a lot less with him as the second New Release item) But I decided to go with Chill w/ textures and Iron Conservatory instead, as it actually lowered the total cart price and I need to have SOME sort of budget.
I like the Yuzuru hair on him, but that's the only thing from his bundles that got my attention.
Probably because it's not IMO. It is a character by Crocodile Liu that DAZ have purchased and put in bundle, as they have before with other DAZ 8 bundled characters. The documents info page (I access via DIM) says that it is a package called 'Yuzuru and Yuzuru Hair for Genesis 8 Male(s)' and the file install list also contains references to the hair being in the same product. Hair now split out as a seperate product.
Also on the main Yuzuru page it says there are - Normal Map On/Off Presets, 3 Subsurface Level Presets (3Delight) and 3 Translucency Level Presets (Iray) which are missing. Raising a ticket about those.
Great character though, I bought the Pro bundle, a steal at the discounted rate :)

I love what Yuzuru brings to the gene pool, so it was an easy buy for me. :)
I like him. I could use a male companion for Sakura 8 (I have Sasuke for Sakura 8), but Yuzuru 8 doesn't have the anime-styled eyes she has. What do you guys think? Would it look odd to have these two characters in the same scenes? I haven't done anime/manga-style art yet. Been watching "Your Lie in April" on Netflix.

Luca for Genesis 8 has the eye morph separate. You could add that to make his eyes larger, more in par with Sakura. I'm currently doing a render, but once it's done I'll see if I can whip a quick render of what that combination would look like.

I have renders of Jace and Kyoji running now and I think it is important to point out to those who, while they don't do Anime/Manga, do realistic boy or young teens and struggle to find skins. So far, Yuzuru 8 and these two, and while I have not looked at Daeshim or Darui up close, I think they will offer the skin mats folks have been asking for.

Ok, so it wasn't as easy as I thought lol. There was simply no way I could make him work with Sakura, because her morph is just TOO different. However, if you dial in some of Sakura + Kanade so that she isn't as extreme, and you alter Yuzuru enough (the free anime head morph + cartoonized did a great job) you can make them work together. Here's an example of what they would look like side by side. I'm also attaching the "recipe" (all the dial spinning) for this version of Yuzuru in case anyone finds it useful.

Thanks for this one. This actually changes my outlook on Kanade, who I initially passed on. I'm really thinking of getting her now because of Yuzuru.
You guys crack me up sometimes. We finally have something a little different here, a pretty boy, Kanade'a counterpart. She was also made by our pal Crocodile Liu. Sakura was made by Rarestone, so Sakura still has no true counterpart in the DO line.
Yuzuru is like any Final Fantasy character that has been made in the last, oh, 20 years. Final Fantasy 7 came out in 1997 and was the first to be in 3D, its 3D art style set the tone for nearly all future games in its series, and a variety of other games. And it just so happens that the Final Fantasy Remake (part 1) is coming out soon, which is a guaranteed monster hit. So good timing on that! Yuzuru would be perfectly at home in that FF7. Just look at Cloud and his spiky hair:
If it wasn't for Cloud's constant moping, Yuzuru might pull him off. Maybe there is a proper pouty expression for Yuzuru.
And here is the main villain of FF7, Sephiroth, who had quite a legion of fangirls back in the day. I can spot his subtle smirk in Yuzuru's expressions. I bet if Yuzuru had this hair and eye color he would be spot on. Just look at those lips!
And don't even get me started on Final Fantasy 15, which is basically a pretty boy band on a magical road trip: the game.
I'm also happy to see Crocodile Liu make a male character to go along with their girls. That's very cool. Now if we could convince bluejaunte to make a male that would be really rad.
But I also have to chime in on the bundle. This one is at least kind of logically in tune with Yuzuru, but some of the items feel lacking. And like some have said, its been that way for a while for pro bundles. The add on content is often better than what's in any Daz Original bundle. There are certainly exceptions, but there are too many items in bundles that just look rushed. Maybe it is time to start rethinking what "Starter" and "Pro" bundles should be. I'm of the opinion that Daz Original content should be a step above most others, this is your first party content. Its like Nintendo, players generally expect Nintendo's own 1st party games to be special, and that is a big reason behind their success and why they have survived for so many years in their industry while others have failed. And Nintendo is famous for taking their time to polish a game to ensure it is as good as it can be. You gotta up your game Daz. Make me want every item in that bundle, make that bundle look too tempting, make me feel like I just stole something when I check out a pro bundle.
