New computer and better organisation of DS and DIM

I've been using a top-end gaming laptop (GTX1070, 32GB RAM, 476GB C Drive, 931GB D drive) but most of my DAZ content is on the C Drive. I have around 3000 items in my content library but keep running out of space so have to uninstall products that are rarely used. I moved all of the HDRIs to the D drive a while ago. My render times are acceptable but could be faster for complex scenes and for the creation of HDRIs (minimum 6K image width) I still need overnight renders. Now I am getting a custom-built workstation with better graphics card but still only 512GB C drive and 2TB D drive. Clearly, DS needs to be istalled on the C drive but can I install DIM on the D drive? Will the content library show up in DS when I'm using it?

You can install DIM itself on the C drive, too, you would just need to change where DIM installs content. You can have your content wherever you want it, as long as you tell DS and DIM where your content is.
That's good to know, thanks.. Any advice on how to change the default location of the content in DIM and how to get DS to recognise where it is?
Click the gear icon at top-right of the DIM window, go to the Installation tab, click the + to add a new location, name it, click ... to set the folder, click Accept to get back to the Instalaltion tab of Settings, set the new location as the Current one using the picker at the bottom, click Accept back to the main window.
In DS, the simplest method is to run http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start - you can download the .dsa file using the link above the block of code, then drag it into the DS Viewport.
Thanks Richard...you always come up with the goods!
DIM placed it on drive D, but DS does not see the content.
I did not understand how to make DS see content on drive D.
What to download?
Where to move?
The DS viewport does not accept anything at all.
Please tell us in more detail, the problem of drive C is very important.
